She performed wudu but did not wash her arms, then she performed tawaf for 'Umrah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: My wife and I were in Makkah to perform 'Umrah. Before we began, we performed wudu, but my wife, out of modesty about exposing her forearms to wash her hands up to the elbows, was content with washing only her hands and the upper parts of her forearms. This continued until she finished her 'Umrah. My ignorance played a role in
that. Is her 'Umrah valid, or is wudu required for tawaf? If it is not valid, what is required of her now? Please issue a ruling for us, may Allah reward you and not deprive you of reward.

A: If the situation is as described, then your wife has not yet completed the 'Umrah for which she entered the state of ihram; because it is a condition for the validity of tawaf that a person be in a state of ritual purity. So your wife is still in the state of ihram. If she had sexual intercourse, her 'Umrah is thereby invalidated, and she must return to Makkah and perform that 'Umrah for which she is still in the state of ihram, which is defective. When she is finished with it, she returns to the miqat from which she originally entered the state of ihram and enters the state of ihram for a new 'Umrah to make up for the defective 'Umrah, and she performs it completely. She must also slaughter a sheep in Makkah that is acceptable as an 'Id sacrifice and distribute it to the poor of the Haram. If she did not have sexual intercourse, she returns and performs that 'Umrah for which she performed tawaf while not in a state of purity, and that is sufficient for her.
