Breaking the Fast While Handling Accidents

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q27: A- What is the ruling on breaking the fast due to hardship while handling accidents ? Is it better to break it or not? B- What is the precise criterion for hardship? C- Should one break the fast before the hardship occurs to avoid it, or after it occurs?
D- If his handling of the accident ends before sunset, should he abstain for the rest of the day? E- What is required of one who broke his fast due to hardship and then Ramadan arrived the following year without him having made it up?

A27: A- If a fasting person experiences hardship from fasting while handling an accident, or if his fasting weakens him from fulfilling his duty toward saving a protected life or protected property, he should break his fast and make up that day. It is obligatory to break the fast if the necessity is confirmed, such that the rescue depends on breaking the fast. B- The hardship that permits breaking the fast is that which would cause him to be unable to perform his work or to be weakened to a degree that affects the rescue if he did not break his fast. However, if it is merely tolerable fatigue and exhaustion, this does not permit breaking the fast. C- One should not break the fast unless the hardship actually occurs. D- He should abstain for the rest of the day as a precaution and to avoid the difference of opinion. E- If he left making it up for an excuse, he must make up the days he broke after the other Ramadan that he encountered has passed. If he left it without an excuse, he is sinful, and he must make up what he missed after the other Ramadan, and he must feed one poor person for every day he delayed making up.
Q28: Does carrying a corpse, touching it, or getting stained with blood invalidate the fast ?
A28: None of this invalidates the fast or affects it.
Q29: Does the smoke, fumes, or gases resulting from the accident invalidate the fast ?
A29: This smoke, fumes, and gases enter the nose without one’s choice, so they do not affect the validity of the fast.
