Fasting on the Day of 'Arafah
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q30: Which is better: fasting the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah , especially the Day of 'Arafah , for those participating in the Hajj mission, or breaking the fast to gain strength to serve the pilgrims?
A30: If breaking the fast on these days leads to gaining strength to serve
the pilgrims, then breaking the fast is better; because its benefit is widespread. And if a Muslim is eager for good, and it is his habit to do it, but he is prevented from doing so by an excuse such as travel or illness, then Allah the Exalted records for him the reward of all of it. This is based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):Sahih al-Bukhari 2996. It was narrated by al-Bukhari . And the favor of Allah is vast. So if Allah knows from the servant the sincerity of his intention and his eagerness for good, and that he only left that act for a greater benefit, which is serving the pilgrims, then He, the Exalted, will reward him with the best reward for that.

When a slave falls ill or travels, then he will get reward similar to that he gets for good deeds practiced at home when in good health.
