Reciting the Noble Qur'an in prayer in a language other than Arabic
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 18439 )
Q 3: Is it possible to recite the Noble Qur'an in prayer in a language other than Arabic , given that other religions perform their prayers in various languages?
A 3: Reciting the Noble Qur'an in prayer is among the acts of worship with which Allah the Exalted has commanded us to worship Him, so it is not permissible to recite the Qur'an in prayer or elsewhere in any language other than Arabic. Whoever does so, his prayer is invalid. Islam is, in this and other matters, a proof in itself; it is not argued against by anything else, whatever it may be, let alone by abrogated and invalid laws. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
