Taking a fee for reciting the Noble Qur'an

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 8862 ):
Q3: What is the interpretation of the Prophetic hadith
Recite the Qur'an and do not eat by itاقرؤوا القرآن ولا تأكلوا به
? And is it permissible to take a fee for reciting the Noble Qur'an as some reciters in Egypt do?

A3 : The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded the recitation of the Qur'an and its contemplation, as remembrance of Allah and worship of Him, hoping for His reward and fearing His punishment, and to understand its rulings and act upon them and take heed from its admonitions. And he (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade taking a fee for its recitation and eating by it. And success is from Allah. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
