The second question of Fatwa No. ( 20353 )
Q2: Whohas the obligation of the full ritual bath for major ritual impurity from the night. Is it permissible to delay it until the dawn? ؟
A2 : If a person is in a state of major ritual impurity from the night, it is permissible for him to sleep before performing the ritual bath for major ritual impurity, and there is no blame on him for that. It is not obligatory for him to perform the ritual bath until the time for the Fajr prayer enters, because the prayer is not valid unless the state of minor and major ritual impurity is removed. However, it is a recommended practice (sunnah) for him to perform the ablution for prayer before sleeping to lighten the ruling of the heavy state of major ritual impurity; this is based on what Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated, saying:Sunan Ibn Majah 584Sahih (Darussalam) It is agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim. And what al-Bukhari and Muslim narrated from the hadith of Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): . And if he performs the ritual bath before sleeping, that is better and more complete; so that he is in the most complete state of ritual purity. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إذا أراد أن ينام وهو جُنُب غسل فرجه وتوضأ وضوءه للصلاة'Umar ibn al-Khattab asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), "Does one of us sleep while in a state of major ritual impurity?" He said, "Yes, if one of you performs the ablution, let him sleep while in a state of major ritual impurity."
أن عمر بن الخطاب سأل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أيرقد أحدنا وهو جُنُب؟ قال: نعم، إذا توضأ أحدكم فليرقد وهو جُنُب
