Announcing the death of a deceased person

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: In the mortuary of the Shaykh 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn Baz (may Allah have mercy on him) in ad-Dal'am , when a funeral is brought to us, we send a mobile message to a group of the people of ad-Dal'am stating the name of the deceased and the time of the prayer over him. One of the people told us: It is not permissible to mention the name of the deceased. So is
This is correct, or should we continue to mention the names? Please inform us, may Allah reward you with good and may Allah benefit you with your knowledge.

A: It is permissible to announce the death of a person and mention his name, along with clarifying the place and time of the prayer over him, whether that is via mobile messages or in newspapers; because that is a means to fulfilling his right of being prayed over and following his funeral. In the two Sahihs, from the hadith of Jabir ibn Abdullah - may Allah be pleased with them both - :
That the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) informed the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) in the mosque of the death of the Najashi and said: A righteous man has died today, so stand up and pray over your brother As'hamah.أن النبي - صلى الله عليه وسلم - أخبر الصحابة - رضي الله عنهم - في المسجد بموت النجاشي وقال : مات اليوم رجل صالح ، فقوموا فصلوا على أخيكم أصحمة
. And in (the two Sahihs) also, from the hadith of Abu Hurayrah - may Allah be pleased with him -
Abu Huraira said that a negress (or a youth) used to sweep the mosque. God’s messenger missed her, and when he asked about her (or him) the people told him he had died. He asked why they had not informed himأن امرأة سوداء كانت تقم المسجد ففقدها رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - فسأل عنها فقالوا : ماتت ، قال : أفلا كنتم آذنتموني
Mishkat al-Masabih 1659
, meaning: Did you not inform me? These two hadiths are clear in the prescription of announcing the death of a specific person for the sake of praying over him and attending his funeral.
