The sixth question of the fatwa number ( 19136 )
Q 6: When the mu'adhdhin concludes the adhan with "Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La ilaha illa Allah," I say after the adhan is complete: ("Abadan La ilaha illa Allah, Abadan La ilaha illa Allah "). They tell me: It is not permissible to say: ("Abadan La ilaha illa Allah"). Is this correct?
A 6: It is recommended for the listener to follow the mu'adhdhin by saying what he says, except in the "hi'lah" (the final "La ilaha illa Allah"), where he says: ("La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah"). After the completion of the adhan, one prays upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), then says the transmitted supplication:Sunan an-Nasa'i 680Sahih (Darussalam) without saying: ("Abadan") before "La ilaha illa Allah"; because this word has not been transmitted from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)—so saying it is a religious innovation.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
