Q. I led the people in prayer, and I saw blood on my garment. What is the ruling on my prayer ? And what is the ruling on the prayer of the followers?
A : If the blood on your garment is a small amount, it is excused. If it is a large amount and you did not know about it until after the prayer, then your prayer and the prayer of those behind you are valid, but you must wash it for the future. If you knew about it during the prayer and it was possible for you to remove the garment in which it is located, then you should remove it and continue your prayer, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did with his sandals. If you are unable to remove it, then you should leave the prayer, appoint someone to complete the prayer in congregation, and wash it, then you should resume the prayer. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
