The first question of Fatwa No. ( 20703 )
Q1: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Riyad as-Salihin 1001 .
And from 'Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2905Da'if (Darussalam) . In the first hadith, when is it said to the owner of the Qur'an: (Read), is it in this world or on the Day of Resurrection? And is the reward mentioned in the two hadiths specific to the one who memorizes the Qur'an by heart, or is it for every reader, even if he is not a memorizer?
A1 : The first hadith was narrated by the Imam Ahmad and Abu Dawud and al-Tirmidhi from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both), and al-Tirmidhi said: It is a good, authentic hadith. As for when it is said to the reader of the Qur'an: (Read and ascend), it is said to him on the Day of Resurrection when Allah admits him into Paradise. As for the second hadith, it was also narrated by the Imam Ahmad and al-Tirmidhi with similar wording, and al-Tirmidhi said regarding it: This is a strange hadith, we do not know it except from this route, and its chain is not authentic, and Hafs ibn Sulayman who is in its chain is weak in hadith. The hadith was cited by Ibn
al-Jawzi in (Al-'Ilal al-Mutanahiyyah) from the route of 'A'ishah, then he said after it: al-Khatib said: The men of its chain are all trustworthy except al-Saqati. And the hadith is denounced and not established, and al-Dhahabi cited it in (Al-Mizan) in the biography of Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn al-Husayn Abu Hanzh al-Saqati , then he said: They mentioned that he fabricated a hadith, and he mentioned this hadith with the exact same chain. And Ibn Hajar said in (Al-Taqrib) regarding Hafs who is in the chain of the hadith: He is Hafs ibn Abi Dawud al-Qari, the companion of 'Asim , and he is also called: Hafis , his hadith is abandoned despite his leadership in recitation. And since the grade of the hadith is as mentioned, there is no benefit in explaining its words. And there is no doubt that whoever reads the Qur'an and acts in accordance with its requirements, applies its rulings and perfects them, and persists in reading it and reviewing it - then he will attain the pleasure of Allah and His Paradise, and he will obtain the highest ranks of Paradise with the noble, righteous companions, and he will be an intercessor and an advocate for his companions who act upon it, whether he is a memorizer of the Qur'an by heart, or he reads it from the mushaf without memorizing it. And what indicates this is what was narrated by the Imam Muslim and Ahmad from Abu 'Umaymah al-Bahili who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say:Sahih Muslim 804a The hadith.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
Q1: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The one who was devoted to the Qur'an will be told on the Day of Resurrection: 'Recite and ascend (in ranks) as you used to recite when you were in the world. Your rank will be at the last Ayah you recite
يقال لصاحب القرآن: اقرأ وارتق ورتل كما كنت ترتل في الدنيا، فإن منزلتك عند آخر آية تقرؤهاAnd from 'Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever recites the Qur'an and memorizes it, making lawful what it makes lawful, and unlawful what it makes unlawful, Allah will admit him to Paradise due to it, and grant him intercession for ten of his family members who were to be consigned to the Fire.
