Repeating the performance of the Eid prayer in a single prayer area, with one congregation after another

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 20653 )
Q: Necessity required the Eid prayer to be performed more than once in the mosque , and the number of worshippers reached more than seven thousand, and this
number cannot be accommodated in the mosque, nor in its spacious courtyard. I was asked what the pure Shari'ah says about repeating the prayer in one place for more than one imam. This means: assigning imams for a number of times on the day of Eid; the first congregation at the first time for the Eid prayer, the second after an hour, the third after an hour, and so on, three times, with an imam for each time other than the first. I have consulted the book al-Mughni and other books of jurisprudence, and I did not find a statement from any of the jurist imams permitting the multiplication of imams except for making up (qada'), (please review al-Mughni vol. 2/390). The truth is, I have not known from the preceding imams of jurisprudence that they permitted organizing times and multiplying congregations for the Eid prayer in one place, even if the imams for it were multiplied, knowing that it is difficult to secure a prayer area outside the city or inside it. It has been reported to me that Muslims in non-Islamic countries, for example (London in Britain), pray three times or more in one place. I ask you to kindly inform me of the stronger opinion.

A: It is not permissible to repeat the performance of the Eid prayer in a single prayer area with one congregation after another; because this is an invented practice. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
'A'isha reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: He who innovates things in our affairs for which there is no valid (reason) (commits sin) and these are to be rejected.من أحدث في أمرنا هذا ما ليس منه فهو رد
Sahih Muslim 1718a
And it is obligatory for every congregation to perform the Eid prayer in the mosques where they perform the Friday prayer, if a place is not available where they can all perform the Eid prayer together in one instance.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
