Hanging pictures of the deceased in the house

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fifth question of Fatwa No. ( 5088 )
Q5: Is it forbidden to hang a picture of a deceased person in the house, and is it forbidden to collect and keep pictures of the dead, or not?
A5: It is not permissible to hang pictures of beings with souls in houses, nor in places other than houses, whether they are of the living or the dead, or for remembrance or for any other reason; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Ali (may Allah be pleased with him):
Spare no portrait unwiped out, and leave not a high grave unlevelled.لا تدع صورة إلا طمستها، ولا قبرًا مشرفًا إلا سويته
Riyad as-Salihin 1687
narrated by Muslim in his Sahih. Or for any other reason. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
