Slaughter at a specific time to lift a calamity

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 18221 )
Q 2: In our area, once a year in August or September, people from the village gather in the mosque, slaughter a bull or a sheep, and distribute the meat to the houses to prepare food. After the people leave, they eat the food, then they supplicate to Allah so that He will not afflict them
with diseases. They give charity and say, "This is charity for health," and they believe that if they do this, Allah will avert calamities from them. What is the ruling on eating this food? What is the ruling on one who holds this belief?

A 2: This slaughter is a religious innovation (bid'ah), and this belief is invalid and not permissible; because it has no basis in the pure Shari'ah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
He who did any act for which there is no sanction from our behalf, that is to be rejected.من عمل عملاً ليس عليه أمرنا فهو رد
Sahih Muslim 1718b
, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Avoid novelties, for every novelty is an innovation, and every innovation is an error.إياكم ومحدثات الأمور فإن كل محدثة بدعة وكل بدعة ضلالة
Sunan Abi Dawud 4607Sahih (Al-Albani)
. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
