Fatwa number ( 17980 )
Q: I vowed to Allah that I would pray one thousand rak'ahs if He answered my supplication , and Allah answered my supplication. Do I have to pray the one thousand rak'ahs, and do I have to pray them before a specific time ends, even though I did not specify a time?
A: It is obligatory for you to pray the prayer you vowed according to your ability, and you are not required to pray them all together; because this is a vow of obedience, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sahih al-Bukhari 6696 , and we advise you not to make vows in the future; because of the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): Mishkat al-Masabih 3426 . It is agreed upon that it is authentic. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

من نذر أن يطيع الله فليطعهDo not make vows, for a vow has no effect against fate; it is only from the miserly that it is a means by which something is extracted.
لا تنذروا فإن النذر لا يرد من قدر الله شيئًا، وإنما يستخرج به من البخيل
