The first question of Fatwa number ( 20845 )
Q1: We say that the dead do not benefit the living , but Moses (peace and blessings be upon him) benefited our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) after his death when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was raised to his Lord, by advising him to return to his Lord so that the prayer would be reduced from fifty to five prayers, and this great benefit came after the death of Moses (peace and blessings be upon him). After this, how do we say that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) does not benefit us after his death, even though he is the best of all creation?
A1 : What happened between Moses (peace be upon him) and our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) on the night of the Mi'raj, and Moses asked Muhammad to ask his Lord to lighten the prayer
until it was lightened to five prayers, and likewise what happened between him and the prophets on that night and his seeing them in their forms, even though their bodies are settled in their graves on earth, is a special state and a miracle among the miracles of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and Allah is Able to do all things, and the prophets are dead in their graves and their life there is a barzakh life, and Allah has forbidden the earth to consume their bodies, and this and nothing else indicates that the prophets in their graves or any other of the dead benefit the living or harm them. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
