The third question of Fatwa No. ( 15420 )
Q 3: What is the ruling on a group of people gathering at the bedside of a sick person to recite the Qur'an for him, and reciting a complete recitation of the Qur'an for him ?
A 3 : Reciting the Qur'an for a sick person seeking his healing from Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He), by reciting and blowing on him or on the affected area, is a recommended practice established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). It is the most beneficial of healing medicines by the permission of Allah, and the most beneficial things in that are Surat al-Fatihah, the Verse of the Throne, and Say: He is Allah, the One, and Say: I seek refuge with the Lord of the Daybreak, and Say: I seek refuge with the Lord of mankind. The entire Qur'an is healing, as the Exalted said:[Fussilat 41:44] the verse. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
