Q 1: In our desert area, when some people build a new house or buy a new car, they slaughter an animal believing that it will protect them from ruin or the evil eye , and we advised them, but they said: It is charity.
A 1 : It is not permissible to slaughter the animal with this intention, and if the intention of the one slaughtering is to seek nearness to the jinn to ward off their harm, it is major shirk (associating partners with Allah) and worship of other than Allah;
as Allah the Exalted said:[Al-An'am 6:162-163] the verse. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
