A man performed Hajj but did not perform the Tawaf of Ifadah; is there anything required of him?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The first question says: I performed Hajj for myself three years ago, and I knew very little about the rituals of Hajj. I went with some friends who had performed Hajj in previous years. However, when we arrived at 'Arafah, some of them got separated from us, and they had all our belongings with them. I was left with only my money and one of my friends. We completed the remaining rituals of Hajj like the other pilgrims, walking with them and doing as they did, until we descended from Mina after stoning the pillars. I did not know that we had anything else to do besides the Farewell Tawaf. I did not perform the Tawaf of Ifadah and returned to Jeddah, where I am an Egyptian and work. I was single, and naturally, I did not perform the Farewell Tawaf until I left the Kingdom during my vacation period. After I learned of my shortcoming in the first Hajj, I performed Hajj a second time for myself. I naturally researched the rituals of Hajj and read a lot about it before my second trip so that I would not fall short in anything again, and praise be to Allah. I was told that the second Hajj compensates for the deficiency in the first. I want to know the truth of the matter from you: Is there anything required of me now regarding the first Hajj, which was more than three years ago?

The Shaykh : In this session, these issues have been mentioned repeatedly, where the questioners say that they asked and were told such-and-such. I would like to ask: Who are they asking? Are they asking ordinary people, or just any person they see? If that is the case, then it is a shortcoming on their part, and this does not clear their conscience, nor will it be an excuse for them before Allah. For Allah says only:
So ask the people of the message if you do not know. فأسألوا أهل الذكر إن كنتم لا تعلمون
[An-Nahl 16:43]
. Asking someone you do not know to be among the people of knowledge is a question that is of no benefit, because one who is not among the people of knowledge is like you, ignorant, and not fit to be asked. However, if they are asking people of knowledge and trusting in their knowledge and religion, then they are excused before Allah the Exalted, and nothing is required of them. In that case, the one who issued the fatwa that his last Hajj suffices for his first Hajj was mistaken in his ruling, because his first Hajj was not completed, as the Tawaf of Ifadah is a pillar without which Hajj is not completed. Therefore, this mufti should have ordered him to perform the Tawaf of Ifadah to complete his first Hajj, and then perform the last Hajj, which would be voluntary. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you.
