Oaths in a state of anger

Fatwa number ( 4568 )
Q: One of my relatives previously proposed to marry my sister, and I swore by the Great Allah: that she is forbidden to him by the seven prohibitions due to previous disputes between our fathers (may Allah have mercy on them) and all our deceased believers, knowing that my sister wants to marry him and all the family members agree. And the devil took me away—may Allah make him not a companion for us—and I married her to him according to the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). O honorable Shaykh: Is the expiation for three days
of fasting or feeding sixty poor people sufficient?
A: If the situation is as you described, then you must pay the expiation for an oath, which is: feeding ten poor people, or clothing them, or freeing a believing slave. If you cannot find the means to do so, then fast for three days, and it is better if they are consecutive. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
