The second question of Fatwa No. ( 14101 )
Q2: If my father did not order his daughters to wear the hijab and they are uncovered, and I told him: let the girls wear the hijab, and he said to me: you rule over your wife, and I praise Allah, my wife is committed to the Sunnah and wears the hijab, but is there sin in my not going to them? Knowing that he did not even order the boys to pray, and he himself does not maintain the prayer. Please inform us, may Allah reward you with good.
A2: It is obligatory for you to be dutiful to your father, maintain ties with him, and treat him well to the best of your ability. Continue to advise him, and explain to him the ruling on the hijab and the ruling on prayer from the Qur'an and the Sunnah; perhaps Allah will guide him, and let that be with kind words, good admonition, and gentleness with him until the benefit is realized. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
