Delaying the weaning of a child beyond two years

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The seventh question of Fatwa No. ( 5881 )
Q7: Is it permissible to delay weaning a child beyond the age specified in the Qur'an (two years)?
A7: It is permissible if there is a need for the delay, just as it is permissible to wean the child before the completion of two years if there is a benefit in doing so. The original ruling is that breastfeeding is for a period of two years, so one should not deviate from this except for a sudden benefit that necessitates the deviation. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
