Going to fortune-tellers, sorcerers, and magicians for treatment

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 14746 )
Q: I am a Muslim wife, praise be to Allah, and I have been married for about eight years. My problem now is that I dislike intercourse with my husband, and I try to please him at all times for fear of committing a sin. During this long period, we have been blessed with only one child, and I have not found sleep pleasant in the same bed with my husband. I have tried much and could not. I received some advice from some relatives to expose myself to some sorcerers and fortune-tellers; therefore, I ask your Eminence to guide me to the safest solution.
A : It is not permissible to go to fortune-tellers, sorcerers, and magicians for treatment with them or to believe what they say; because he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
He who visits a diviner ('Arraf) and asks him about anything, his prayers extending to forty nights will not be accepted.من أتى عرافًا فسأله عن شيء لم تُقبل له صلاة أربعين ليلة
Sahih Muslim 2230
narrated by Muslim , and it is authentic from him (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
Whoever goes to a diviner or a fortune-teller and believes what he says, he has disbelieved in what was revealed to Muhammadمن أتى عرافًا أو كاهنًا فصدقه بما يقول، فقد كفر بما أنزل على محمد
Sunan al-Bayhaqi 15:740
(peace and blessings be upon him), but you should treat yourself with the Qur'an, dhikr, and authentic supplications, such as reciting Surat al-Fatihah, the Verse of the Throne, al-Ikhlas, and the two chapters of protection (al-Mu'awwidhatan), and what is authentic of dhikr and supplications found in the books of dhikr and in the book (Zad al-Ma'ad) by Ibn al-Qayyim ,
and it is permissible for you to go to one who performs ruqyah with the Qur'an, dhikr, and authentic supplications. We ask Allah for your immediate healing. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
