The first question of Fatwa No. ( 18365 )
Q1: What is the ruling in the religion regarding a man who was subjected to a work (sorcery), and he went to the fortune-tellers (the Dajjals), and they removed it and performed a protective amulet for him? Is it permissible to keep it, or what is obligatory?
A1 : It is not permissible to go to sorcerers to remove sorcery or for anything else; due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):Sunan al-Bayhaqi 15:740 (peace and blessings be upon him), and it is obligatory for the one who did that to repent to Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) and rely upon Him, and not to return to such a thing, along with destroying the amulet; because it is in the ruling of the polytheistic amulets that are forbidden, and it is prescribed for him to seek treatment with permissible medicines and lawful ruqyah. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his companions.
