Is it permissible to use the jinn in permissible matters or in prescribed matters?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is the evidence, or is it permissible to use the jinn in permissible matters or in prescribed matters? Is it permissible to use the jinn?

The Shaykh : I have been asked about this many times, but now a somewhat amusing question comes to mind: Is it permissible for the jinn to be used by humans?

The questioner : In their religion.

The Shaykh : Come on, let’s see. Squeeze your brain and let’s see what comes out of it.

The questioner : If it is permissible for humans, I think... I cannot be certain, my Shaykh.

The Shaykh : How?

The questioner : I cannot be certain, my Shaykh.

The Shaykh : Yes, I say it is not permissible, neither this nor that. Why? Because the jinn are a world other than the world of humans. I have said more than once that today, a human lives with another human for a long period of time, and in the end, it turns out that this human has a companion from the jinn who becomes an enemy to the human who was his companion for a span of time, mixing with him and speaking with him, understanding each other. Now, with this long experience the human has lived with another human, it sometimes turns out to be unsuccessful in this companionship. So what do you think if he mixes with a jinni, associates with him, and seeks his advice, thinking that he is guiding him to good? That is one thing. The second thing is that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) says
Do not accompany except a believer, and do not serve your food except to one with Taqwa. لا تصاحب إلا مؤمنا ولا يأكل طعامك إلا تقي
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2395Sahih (Darussalam)
so that you know that this one is a believer and this one is pious. Does it mean that as soon as you sit with him for a session and hear a good word from him, or benefit from a correct theory, he has become a believer and become pious?

The questioner : No, of course not.

The Shaykh : So that is not the way to know that he is a believer and that he is pious.

The questioner : Mixing with him, accompanying him.

The Shaykh : Fine, is this possible between a human and a jinni?

The questioner : Difficult.

The Shaykh : Not possible. Please, go ahead.
This is from the perspective of reasoning, but the word of our Lord is sufficient for us:
And there were men from mankind who sought refuge in men from the jinn, so they [only] increased them in burden. وأنه كان رجال من الإنس يعوذون برجال من الجن فزادوهم رهقا
[Al-Jinn 72:6]
So it is not permissible to seek the help of the jinn.

The questioner : I mean, my Shaykh, you take the meaning, meaning they seek refuge, they turn to them.

The Shaykh : Of course, "seek refuge" means they seek their help. The jinn, as a hidden world from humans, are more skilled at misleading people than the Americans and the Jews, or not?

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : Well, if the Americans and the Jews, who are of our kind, humans like us, are able to mislead the Muslims, and the Americans’ declaration of the Saudi lands as lawful is not far from you, right?

The questioner : Yes, O our Shaykh.

The Shaykh : If humans are causing trouble for humans, is it not even more so that a jinni would cause trouble for a human while he plots from behind the veil of the unseen?
Al-Halabi : My Shaykh, does the saying of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)
and let the Turks alone as long as they leave you alone اتركوا الترك ما تركوكم
Sunan Abi Dawud 4302Hasan (Al-Albani)
not bear witness to this meaning, even in a general sense?

The Shaykh : Yes, that is correct.
Al-Halabi : From this door, I mean.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : Well, my Shaykh, the Qur’anic verse which is
grant me a kingdom such as will not belong to anyone after me هب لي ملكا لا ينبغي لأحد من بعدي
[Sad 38:35]
, is it possible to cite it in this place on the basis that here it is about a kingdom...

The Shaykh : You mean citing it.

The questioner : The prohibition.

The Shaykh : You mean the prohibition. Yes, no, because the kingdom that Sulayman (peace be upon him) asked for is something that none of those who summon the jinn claim. Their seeking help is a part in a million of what Allah the Exalted made the jinn a miracle for Sulayman (peace be upon him).

The questioner : I mean, Sulayman through the command.

The Shaykh : He had authority and control, whereas now it is exactly the opposite; the jinn is the one controlling the human.
Al-Halabi : Well, the hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)
Were it not for the supplication of my brother Sulayman. لولا دعوة أخي سليمان
Sahih Ibn Hibban 10:646
, how is this here, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said he only struck him, not the ruling or...

The Shaykh : I think it is the same answer, but perhaps you mean something else.
Al-Halabi : I mean, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) refrained from tying up the jinni, he said
Were it not for the supplication of my brother Sulayman. لولا دعوة أخي سليمان
Sahih Ibn Hibban 10:646
to the end of the hadith, and there is no ruling on the jinn in general, but rather on this specific jinni he said
Why not لولا
to the end. Does this mean it is understood as an absolute ruling on this jinni, or on all the jinn?

The Shaykh : Now I understand your question, but it has no relation to the topic. When our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said this word, it was out of the etiquette of a scholar with his colleague. Sulayman (peace be upon him) asked for this divine privilege, so I do not want to share in it. Otherwise, I would have tied him to one of the pillars of the mosque until the children of the city, or the boys of the city, would play with him. So, out of humility, he (peace and blessings be upon him) left tying up this jinni, even though he was able to do so.
Al-Halabi : And tying him up does not contradict the request of Sulayman.

The questioner : The matter of the kingdom.

The Shaykh : No, it does not, because this is a part, as we mentioned.
Al-Halabi : Here is the point: if there is no contradiction, but he did this out of etiquette.

The Shaykh : Perfect.
Al-Halabi : May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : And you as well.

The questioner : My Shaykh, does this not have a second narration which is
but Allah helps me against him and so I am safe from his hand إلا ان الله أعانني عليه فأسلم
Sahih Muslim 2814a
, or is this a hadith?

The Shaykh : Another hadith:
None of you is without a companion from the jinn. They said, "And you, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "And I, except that Allah helped me against it, so it submitted." ما منكم من أحد إلا وله قرينه من الجن، قالوا ولا أنت يا رسول الله ؟ قال: ولا أنا إلا أن الله أعانني عليه فأسلم
.
Al-Halabi : My Shaykh, regarding the disagreement of the scholars on the binding of the mim in "fa-aslama," your preference is that the two enter into each other.

The Shaykh : Yes.
Al-Halabi : Yes, "fa-aslama fa-aslumu."

The questioner : Our friend is not willing to eat so he can listen.

Another questioner : I heard you once, my Shaykh, in a session: "The lesson and the molar do not meet." This is from that door.

The Shaykh : Yes, that is correct.

Another questioner : From the Sunnah, eat two dates.

The Shaykh : Two dates.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : How do you mean?

The questioner : I mean, eat two dates.

The Shaykh : This is a Sunnah, the fabricated hadith that says this one is also for your heart.
