The second question of Fatwa number ( 10195 )
Q2: If I swore not to do a certain deed, and then my father swore at me to do it, what should I do? Should I do the deed or not?
A2: If a person swears to do something or not to do it, and he sees that breaking his oath is better, then he should expiate for his oath and do the thing that is
better; for it is established in the hadith of 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Samurah (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sahih al-Bukhari 6622 . And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
