A statement without swearing by Allah
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 20245 )
Q 2: I was angry with my son and said to him: If I offered you marriage again, I would have said to you: marry me, but without swearing by Allah, just this statement. What is the expiation for this?
A 2: The statement you made with the mentioned words is not considered an oath, so you owe nothing for it, neither an expiation nor anything else. This statement does not prevent you from offering your son marriage in the future, as that encourages him to chaste himself, but it is better to avoid such bad words
that may lead to violating the prohibition in the Shari'ah, and likening what is permissible and lawful in the Shari'ah to what is forbidden in the Shari'ah. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
