Rebuking one's parents while loving them
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fifth question of Fatwa No. ( 7731 )
Q 5: What is the ruling on one who rebukes his parents, even though he harbors for them a great love that no other love matches, after the love of Allah and His Messenger ; that is, he displays some anger toward them, even though he does not accept the slightest harm for them? Is that considered undutifulness to parents or not?
A : He commits a sin by rebuking them, and it is considered undutifulness to parents, even if his heart is filled with love for them. It is disliked to cause them the slightest harm; for Allah the Exalted said:[Al-Isra 17:23]
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
