What is the ruling on gathering the scattered pages from torn Qur'ans and burning them so they are not desecrated, or is it better to bury them?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is the ruling on gathering the scattered and torn pages from Qur'ans and burning them so they are not exposed to desecration? And is it better to burn them or bury them as they are?

The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and I send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions.
No Muslim doubts that the Noble Qur'an must be respected and honored by the Muslim, and protected from being insulted. As for these torn pages about which the questioner asked, which cannot be used for reading, there are two ways to handle them:
The first way is to bury them in a clean, pure place that will not be exposed to insult in the future, according to the doer's expectation.
The second way is to burn them, and burning them is permissible and there is no harm in it. When the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) unified the Qur'ans on the dialect of Quraysh during the time of 'Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), they burned everything other than this unified copy. This is evidence of the permissibility of burning a Qur'an that cannot be used. However, I see that if he burns them, he should crush them until they crumble and become ash, because in burned printed material, the letters remain visible after burning and do not disappear until it is crushed until it is like ash.
