The sixth question of Fatwa No. ( 9850 ):
Q6: What should be done with the Qur'an and torn books that are no longer used? Should they be burned or buried?
A6: As for the torn pages of the Mushaf, and likewise the
respectable books containing the mention of Allah or the hadiths of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), there is no harm in burying them in a pure place, or burning them. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
