Which is preferable for torn Qur'ans: burial or burning?
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The sixth question of Fatwa No. ( 6252 ):
Q6: For erroneous Qur'ans, which is better: burning them or burying them in the earth? And is a Qur'an considered erroneous if there is transposition or reordering within a surah?
A6: First: It is obligatory to correct it if possible, in order to preserve the Qur'an and retain the value of the money. If correcting the error is not possible, prevent its publication by destroying it, either by burning it or burying it. Second: One type of error is placing some verses of a surah before others, and this is forbidden. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
