It is forbidden for his wife to sit with him

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 5596 )
Q: A man became angry with his wife, and his anger intensified, so he said to her
in the colloquial dialect: “It is forbidden for you to sit with me”
, meaning by this: that he would relieve himself of his anger, and also that he would silence his wife who had raised her voice, angered him, and rebuked him for his poverty, and spoke words like this which compelled him to say this statement. At that time, the wife went to another room in the house, then she came to her senses and asked her husband for forgiveness and pardon, so he forgave her and pardoned her, but his heart is not at ease until he knows the legal ruling in this matter. Please inform us, may Allah reward you with good.

A: If the situation is as described, then the person mentioned owes an oath expiation; because he forbade her sitting with him and did not forbid her person. It is: feeding ten poor people from the local staple food, or clothing them, or freeing a slave. If he is unable to do any of these three things, he fasts for three days. And he must repent and seek forgiveness from Allah for forbidding what Allah has made lawful. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
