Fatwa number ( 6082 )
Q: I am a student sent abroad for study outside the Kingdom and I am married, but in a discussion that took place with my colleague, I mentioned a need of my colleague, but my colleague did not believe me, and I swore to him by Allah, but he did not believe me, but I got angry and mentioned the prohibition of my wife that I was truthful so that he would be convinced,
and I mentioned something else about which I do not know, but after that I thought and found that I was not truthful
about this need, and I asked some people but I did not get a fatwa that would put my heart at ease, knowing that my wife is in Saudi Arabia and she is pregnant.

A: Nothing happens to your wife as long as you swore and forbade your wife thinking that you were truthful, and it became clear that the reality of the matter is contrary to what you thought. However, if you knew at the time of the oath and the prohibition that you were lying, then you must pay the expiation for an oath. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
