The default in spending is moderation

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fifth question of the fatwa number ( 6384 )
Q 5: A - Is there a basis in the Sunnah for the Muslim home differing in its form from the homes of the pre-Islamic age of ignorance, which are superior in luxurious furnishings, dazzling clothes, and the like?
B - If a Muslim has the wealth to acquire whatever technological devices and goods he wishes, with the intention of saving time for worship, and sometimes on the pretext that Allah the Exalted loves to see His blessing upon His servant, does this conflict with mindfulness of Allah, scrupulousness, and asceticism?

A 5: A - The Islamic default in spending on food, drink, clothing, household furniture, and the like is to adhere to the limit of moderation between extravagance and stinginess. This varies according to the differences in people’s classes, circumstances, positions, and financial capacity. Allah the Exalted said regarding the attributes of the servants of the Most Merciful, in praise of them:
And [they are] those who, when they spend, do so not excessively or sparingly but are ever, between that, [justly] moderateوَالَّذِينَ إِذَا أَنْفَقُوا لَمْ يُسْرِفُوا وَلَمْ يَقْتُرُوا وَكَانَ بَيْنَ ذَلِكَ قَوَامًا
[Al-Furqan 25:67]
, and He said:
(31) O children of Adam, take your adornment at every masjid, and eat and drink, but be not excessive. Indeed, He likes not those who commit excess. (32) Say, "Who has forbidden the adornment of Allah which He has produced for His servants and the good [lawful] things of provision?" Say, "They are for those who believe during the worldly life [but] exclusively for them on the Day of Resurrection." Thus do We detail the verses for a people who know. (33) Say, "My Lord has only forbidden immoralities - what is apparent of them and what is concealed - and sin, and oppression without right, and that you associate with Allah that for which He has not sent down authority, and that you say about Allah that which you do not know."
[Al-A'raf 7:31-33]
,
and He said:
And He it is who causes gardens to grow, [both] trellised and untrellised
[Al-An'am 6:141]
, until He said:
Eat of [each of] its fruit when it yields and give its due [zakah] on the day of its harvest. And be not excessive. Indeed, He does not like those who commit excess.
[Al-An'am 6:141]
. B - A Muslim’s enjoyment of what Allah has given him from His bounty does not conflict with mindfulness of Allah, scrupulousness, and asceticism, as long as his earnings are from lawful sources and his spending is within the limit of moderation, while fulfilling the right of Allah in what He has given him, as mentioned previously. Sulayman (peace be upon him) called upon his Lord, and Allah mentioned of him that he said:
He said, "My Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom such as will not belong to anyone after me. Indeed, You are the Bestower."
[Sad 38:35]
, so Allah gave him from His bounty what dazzles the minds, and it was a sign among the signs of Allah the Exalted. Sulayman (peace be upon him) used it in the pleasure of Allah, as thanks for His blessing, and he enjoyed it within the limits of what Allah made lawful for him. This did not conflict with his mindfulness of Allah, scrupulousness, and asceticism; rather, he was among the grateful.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
