Marrying a woman and her first husband's mother

Fatwa number ( 4571 )
Q: I had an uncle who passed away to the mercy of Allah, and I took care of his wife after his death. My deceased uncle had a son who got married, but Allah decreed that he died in a plane accident at Riyadh Airport, leaving behind his family and children. I am the guardian of these children after their father's death. The question is: Is it permissible for me to marry my uncle's son's wife, while her mother (my uncle's wife) remains with me? I know that she has no kinship with the deceased's mother from any side except through her deceased son, and she had no connection before marrying my uncle's son. I ask for clarification: Is it lawful for me to marry her while her deceased husband's mother is with me?
A: If the situation is as you described, it is permissible for you to marry the woman mentioned. The presence of the deceased's mother under your roof does not affect your marriage to her, nor does it affect marrying both of them. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
