Marriage to the Grandfather’s Daughter

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 14626 )
Q: The father’s brother passed away and he married his widow. She had a daughter who grew up with the deceased’s nephews until she reached maturity. One of the deceased’s sons wants to marry her. Is this permissible after she has grown up with his children? Please inform us, may Allah reward you. And peace be upon you and Allah’s mercy and blessings.
A: If the matter is as described, it is permissible for the son of the deceased’s brother to marry his cousin, the daughter of the man whose mother his father married, even if the girl grew up with her cousin in childhood, provided there is no other impediment that establishes a prohibition, such as breastfeeding
or the like. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
