Q: I am a Sudanese young man, 27 years old, and the thought that occupies my mind and fills my world is the matter of marriage, which is a means of my protection from what my Lord and His Messenger have forbidden me. I came to these blessed lands to perform the lesser pilgrimage and to pray in the mosque of our noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and peace be upon him. After that, I sought assistance for this purpose and resolved to search, strive, and work to fulfill my need. However, this matter became difficult, and all the sustenance I obtained I spent on my family. As for myself, I was unable to do anything for myself due to my family circumstances, which are as follows. First: My father is advanced in age, and I am the only male in a family consisting of seven sisters. My circumstances do not allow me to look away from helping them, because my father is now over 70 years old and cannot work. Even if he could, what he earns is not enough to support himself. Therefore, I dropped out of my studies and became the one responsible for their comfort. Consequently, the matter of marriage is progressing while I am running after it, and I fear that I will fall into what does not please my Lord. This has several avenues, and they have all become a burden on me. I hope to receive an answer to these questions from you. 1 - Is it permissible for me to ask people of good for assistance? 2 - Is it permissible for me to withdraw my hand from my parents, who raised me and have no one else to help them, and to work for them other than the Lord of Majesty and Glory, Exalted is He?
The reasons for my protection from what my Lord and His Messenger have forbidden me, and I came to these blessed lands to perform the lesser pilgrimage and pray in the mosque of our noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and peace be upon him. After that, I sought assistance for this purpose and resolved to search, strive, and work to fulfill my need. However, this matter became difficult, and all the sustenance I obtained I spent on my family. As for myself, I was unable to do anything for myself due to my family circumstances, which are as follows: First, my father is advanced in age, and I am the sole male of a family consisting of seven sisters. My circumstances do not allow me to look away from helping them, because my father is now over seventy years old and cannot work. Even if he could, what he earns is not enough to support himself. Therefore, I fell behind in my studies and became the one responsible for their comfort. Consequently, the matter of marriage is proceeding, and I am running after it, fearing that I will fall into what does not please my Lord. This has several ways, and they have all become compromises for me. I hope to receive an answer from you to these questions: 1. Is it permissible for me to ask people of good for assistance? 2. Is it permissible for me to raise my hand to my parents, who raised me and have no one else to help them, and no one else to work for them after the Lord of Majesty and Glory, Exalted is He?
3. I fear the impulses of Satan, and I hope to meet Allah with the determination and commitment to what He, Mighty and Majestic, has commanded us.
A: You must be dutiful to your parents, care for them, and seek sustenance so that you can get married. Allah will make it easy for you, if Allah wills. Allah the Exalted said:[At-Talaq 65:2-3] So you must fear Allah, rely upon Him, and seek sustenance through lawful means. There is no harm in asking people of wealth and riches to help you with your marriage. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out (3) And will provide for him from where he does not expect. And whoever relies upon Allah - then He is sufficient for him
