Q6: Is it permissible for a woman to wear a tight-fitting garment, and is it permissible for her to wear a white garment?
A6: It is not permissible for a woman to appear before non-mahram men or to go out into the streets and markets wearing a tight-fitting garment that outlines her body and describes it to whoever sees her; because that places her in the position of a naked woman, incites fitnah (trial, discord or temptation), and becomes a cause of serious evil. It is not permissible for her to wear a white garment if
white clothing in her country is the distinctive mark and symbol of men; because of the imitating of men that is involved in that. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed the women who imitate men. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
