What the Wife Is Entitled To and What Is Required of Her Toward Her Husband

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 6574 )
Q4: What is the Islamic treatment that I must have toward my husband and my home, and what is lawful and forbidden in the rights of the spouses? Matters have become confused for many people, so they permit this and forbid that
without knowledge. My brothers are of a certain level of religion and are committed, but I am embarrassed to ask them about anything of that sort.

A4: It is prescribed for you to treat your husband and deal with him with kindness and what is right, and to do for him what women of your standing do for their husbands. Allah the Exalted said:
And due to the wives is similar to what is expected of them, according to what is reasonable. But the men have a degree over them [in responsibility and authority].وَلَهُنَّ مِثْلُ الَّذِي عَلَيْهِنَّ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَلِلرِّجَالِ عَلَيْهِنَّ دَرَجَةٌ
[Al-Baqarah 2:228]
And you should cooperate with him in righteousness and piety as much as you are able. If it is easy for you to read the biographies of some of the female Companions and what they did toward their husbands in terms of service, that is good, and it will benefit you, if Allah wills. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
