Night Prayer: Does It Prevent a Wife from Her Husband?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 17262 )
Q4: My husband asks me to stay up late with him, but I refuse because I want to pray the night prayer, so I go to bed early. Does this count as disobeying my husband?
A4: You must obey your husband in what is good. If he invites you to stay up late in a way that causes you to miss the Fajr prayer at its proper time, or to watch something that is wrong, do not obey him. As for anything else, you must obey him, even if it means missing the night prayer, because it is a recommended practice (sunnah), and obeying the husband is obligatory.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
