The Meaning of His Saying, "And We sent down from the sky blessed water... Thus is the resurrection"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Allah the Exalted argued for the possibility of this by stating that He sends down from the sky blessed water, by which He causes gardens and grain to grow. He sends it down upon the barren land where there is no living tree, but Allah the Exalted makes from this water that grain which reaches its limit to the harvest, and date palms with tall trunks that rise to the highest sky, bearing clustered fruit as provision for the servants. He thereby gives life to the earth after its death. Allah Mighty and Majestic says, "Thus is the resurrection." Indeed, the One who is able to give life to the earth after its death is able to give life to the dead after their death. Listen to the details of this in His saying, the Exalted:
And of His signs is that you see the earth stilled, but when We send down upon it rain, it quivers and grows. Indeed, He who has given it life is the Giver of Life to the dead. Indeed, He is over all things competent. ومن آياته أنك ترى الأرض خاشعة فإذا أنزلنا عليها الماء اهتزت وربت إن الذي أحياها لمحي الموتى إنه على كل شيء قدير
[Fussilat 41:39]
