Fatwa number ( 652 )
Q: 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Sa'dan, his wife, and his children all died in
a car accident, and it is not known who among them died first and who died later. He asks whether any of them inherits from the others?
A: If the matter is as the questioner described, namely that those who died in the aforementioned accident all died at the same time as the accident, and it is not known who among them died before the others, then if that is the case, none of them inherits from the others; because among the conditions of inheritance are the confirmation of the death of the deceased and the confirmation of the life of the heir after him. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
