Inheritance of the one who killed by mistake

Fatwa number ( 3979 )
Q: My father had a car, and I was the one who drove it for his errands. One night, he ordered me to drive him and myself to al-Dawadimi, and when we were on the asphalt road between al-Dawadimi and Shuqra, sleep overtook me, the car overturned, and my father died on the spot. Do I have a share in the inheritance or not?
A: If the matter is as you described, you have no share in the inheritance, unless the rest of the heirs agree to include you with them, on the condition that they are competent to dispose of their rights; because you are considered a killer who killed by mistake by driving while asleep.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
