Cutting Trees from 'Arafah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 11748 )
Q: When I was fifteen years old, I went with my family to Makkah al-Mukarramah to perform the obligatory Hajj. After we had performed the tawaf around the al-Bayt al-'Atiq , we went to Mina and then to 'Arafah . While we were making du'a' to Allah, and when we finished our supplication, I took a stick and hit a tree branch. One of the brothers with me said to me: "This is haram." Question: What should I do if this is haram? Please inform me, may Allah reward you.
A: 'Arafah is part of the Haram (sacred precinct), and there is no blame on you for what you did, nor is there any fidyah (ransom payment) required. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
