Q1: A pilgrim found a sum of money in Mina, and took it
and announced it when he found it, but did not find its owner. Hajj ended and he still had not found its owner. He returned with it to his family, and it remained with him for a year without anyone claiming it. He had announced it in the newspaper, and after that he gave it in charity. What is obligatory for him regarding it? May Allah guide you.
A1: Send it to the head of the Grand Court in Makkah al-Mukarramah, with a description of the characteristics in which he found it, and request that what is required by the Shari'ah be done regarding it.
