Fatwa number ( 14359 )
Q: I performed the obligatory Hajj for the sake of Allah the Exalted last year, and I hope you will kindly provide me with information regarding the following question: I want to perform Hajj on behalf of one of my parents, so should I perform it for my mother or my father? Please inform me, may Allah reward you with the best reward. I also bring to your attention that my parents have passed away into the mercy of Allah the Exalted, and I, if Allah wills,
the Exalted, will perform Hajj this year. Please accept my highest respect, and may peace and the mercy and blessings of Allah be upon you.

A : You should perform Hajj on behalf of the one of your parents who has not performed his or her obligatory Hajj. If neither of them had the opportunity to perform it, you should perform it on behalf of your mother first, and then on behalf of your father. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
