The difference between 'Umrah and Hajj in the same year, where one performs 'Umrah for one person and Hajj for another

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa number ( 658 )
Q1: What is the ruling on one who travels for Hajj and intends his 'Umrah for his mother and his Hajj for his father, and in the second year he reverses it, performing Hajj for his mother and 'Umrah for his father? Is this permissible or not?
A1: Both Hajj and 'Umrah are independent acts of worship, and the Prophet
(peace and blessings be upon him) explained how to perform them as qiran, ifrad, and tamattu', from 'Umrah to Hajj. So if one wishes to enter the state of ihram for 'Umrah on behalf of his mother, for example, and then enter the state of ihram for Hajj on behalf of his father after exiting the state of ihram from the 'Umrah, or vice versa, he may do so. And if he enters the state of ihram for one of the two acts of worship on behalf of himself, and after exiting the state of ihram from it, he enters the state of ihram for the other on behalf of his father, for example, that is permissible; because deeds are by intentions, and every person will have what he intended. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
