Naming with Ilaahi Baksh

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 12319 )
Q: I am a Pakistani citizen (Ilaahi Baksh Imam Baksh), and I have resided in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for a long time. My name (Ilaahi Baksh) has caused me many problems, and I have faced numerous objections from various parties, some of which are official. Everyone has demanded that I change my name, objecting to the word (Ilaahi). This led me to write to you to inquire about your opinion on this name and whether I have the right to change it. Please note that my father chose this name according to his Urdu and Islamic culture. The name means in Urdu: (Gift of Allah). It is a compound of two words: a) (Ilaahi), which means: Allah. b) (Baksh), which means: gift or present. Since the modifier follows the modified in order, unlike in Arabic where the modified precedes the modifier,
the full meaning of my name Ilaahi Baksh is (Gift of Allah). I have previously inquired of some scholars who see no objection to this name. My master: I ask your forgiveness for asking you about this matter, which has caused and continues to cause me much confusion and problems. May Allah preserve you and protect you.

A: If the matter is as you described, there is no harm in naming oneself with the phrase (Ilaahi Baksh), which means in Arabic: (Gift of Allah) or (Present of Allah). And if you change your name to its meaning in Arabic, that is safer for you. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his companions.
