Naming with Allah Khush

Fatwa No. ( 18886 )
Praise be to Allah alone, and may blessings and peace be upon the one after whom there is no prophet. And after: The Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Ifta has reviewed what was sent to His Eminence the Grand Mufti from the Director General of the Branch of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Guidance and Dawah in al-Madinah al-Munawwarah , number (300\1) and dated 30\3\1417 AH, along with its attachments, regarding the request of the heirs of the deceased ( Allah Khush Muhammad Muhammad and Riyam ) to correct the first name
of their deceased relative from (Ila Khush) to (Allah Khush), and what was referred to the Committee by the General Secretariat of the Council of Senior Scholars, number (1875) and dated 6\4\1417 AH. His Eminence requested an answer to the question of the competent authority managing civil status in al-Madinah al-Munawwarah regarding its appropriateness from a Sharia perspective.

After the Committee studied the inquiry, it answered as follows: The texts of the pure Shari'ah have abounded in emphasizing the selection of good names and prohibiting ugly names and those containing corrupt meanings, and changing them to something better. Based on this, naming with (Allah Khush) is not permissible; because when the name is declined in a genealogical context, one would say, for example: (Muhammad ibn Allah Khush), which in its appearance suggests something ugly and has a false meaning. And Allah says:
Allah has not taken any sonمَا اتَّخَذَ اللَّهُ مِنْ وَلَدٍ
[Al-Mu'minun 23:91]
, and He the Exalted says:
He neither begets nor is born,لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ
[Al-Ikhlas 112:3]
. Based on this, we see that the name should remain as it was recorded in its first and second identity documents with the wording (Ila Khush). And success is from Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions.
