Naming with the Name of Allah's Aid

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 1691 )
Q: I am a man named: Awn Allah ibn Rashid al-Atibi, and I saw a dream that repeated twice in which an alarm called out to me: "O Abd al-Mu'in, O Abd al-Mu'in." Therefore, I believed that my current name is among the disliked names that may be changed. Is the name Awn Allah among the disliked names that should be changed? If so, should I change it to the name I was called in the dream (Abd al-Mu'in)? And if I remove the Name of the Majestic to make it Awn ibn Rashid, is that permissible? I ask for your fatwa.
A: Naming with Awn Allah is not forbidden, nor is it disliked in the Shari'ah; because the meaning of this name is aid from Allah, and this is a meaning that the Shari'ah does not reject, rather it aligns with its objectives. Accordingly, there is no need to change your name or remove from it. You should not rely on the dream you saw, for a dream is sometimes true, and sometimes it is a jumble of dreams with no validity, so no legal ruling or name change is based upon it.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions.
