Zakah on wealth is paid out from its own kind

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 12563 )
Q: Is it permissible to give zakah in cash, or in wheat, or rice, or any type of grain? And is it permissible to give it in cash? And is zakah obligatory on wealth intended for trade, and how much zakah is paid on the wealth if it is subject to zakah? This is for the sake of what is good for Islam and Muslims, and may Allah preserve you.
A: The owner of the wealth must pay out the zakah of the wealth from its own kind; he pays out cash from cash, wheat from wheat, rice from rice, and dates from dates, and so on. As for wealth prepared for trade, zakah is obligatory in it if it reaches the nisab (minimum threshold for zakah) by itself or by adding it to other zakatable cash or trade goods, and a lunar year has passed over it. He pays out a quarter of a tenth, that is, two and a half percent (2.5%) in cash.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his companions.
